Chose VA over OLED because this machine also does long days of static windows, and that has proved to be the right call. Contrast is nowhere near an OLED but it is miles past the IPS it replaced, and blacks in a dark game read as night rather than grey fog. Two years of that and the panel is exactly as it was on the first evening. No dimmed corners, no ghost of a taskbar, no maintenance cycle nagging at me every time I want to shut down.

Replaced a triple-screen setup and losing the two seams down the middle changed the whole feel of it. Reaching the menu means groping round the back, which on a screen this wide is a proper stretch!

For games this is the most immersive thing I have ever had on a desk, and a flat screen now feels like looking down a letterbox. What it is not is a work panel. Straight lines bend, a spreadsheet leans away from you at both ends, and anything with a ruler in it has me second-guessing the software rather than my eyes. A year and a half in I still keep a small flat screen off to one side for exactly that, which does rather undercut the point of buying something this wide.

The height and tilt range is the unsung part of this one. On something this wide I had expected a token stand and a quick trip to buy an arm, but it drops low enough to sit properly, tilts far enough to kill the ceiling light, and does not sag at either end. It also arrived without a mark on it, which at this size is not nothing!

Frame pacing has been perfect at the full width and refresh, which was the thing I was most worried about before ordering. Ten months in and there has been no dropped signal, no flicker, and none of the handshake nonsense on wake that I had with the last one.
