Came from a triple-monitor arrangement I had been maintaining like a small hobby: three sets of cables, three power bricks and two seams sitting across my field of view. This is one cable and one unbroken picture, and the width is close enough to what the three gave me that I have not missed them once. Snapping windows into thirds does the rest of the job. The stand is solid enough that the whole thing does not sway when I type, which on a panel this wide I had assumed would be a problem!

What sets this apart from the other ultrawides I looked at is the pixel count. At 5120 across 39 inches you get the width without the coarse text of the 3440 panels, so it works for a document as well as it does for a game. OLED contrast on something this wide is the other half of it. In a dark scene the edges of the screen simply vanish and you are left with the picture, which no LCD I have owned has managed. Motion at 165Hz is clean enough that I have stopped thinking about it entirely. Two warnings. The curve makes straight lines lean until your eye settles, which took longer than I expected, and you want a deep desk to sit far enough back for the far edges to stay sharp.

It has been the centrepiece of this room for two years and nothing since has made me want to change it. The curve is judged well for the width, the height range is honest rather than token, and it has never once dropped a signal or woken up confused about which input it was on!

The worry with an OLED on a work desk is what it looks like a long way down the line, so that is what I will report. Fifteen months in, with the same editor and the same taskbar on screen for eight hours a day, there is nothing to see on a grey slide. Nothing at all. I leave the pixel refresh alone to do its job and let the screen sleep over lunch, and that appears to be enough. The only mark against it is the coating, which shows every fingerprint, so keep a cloth in the drawer!
