Chose this over the cinema focused models because our room has a 2 metre skylight and no chance of a blackout blind. It is bright enough to win that argument: an evening film with a lamp still on is perfectly watchable, which nothing cheaper managed. Out of the box the picture is far too cool and far too keen, and an hour with a calibration disc made more difference than any upgrade I have bought in a long time.

Ceiling mounted in a family room that never gets properly dark, which was the whole reason for buying something this bright instead of a cinema projector at the same money. With the lights on it is like having a very large telly on the wall; with them off, at 120 inches, it is a cinema. The fan is the surprise. At this brightness I expected a hairdryer above the sofa and instead there is a low hum you notice only when the film stops. Two months in and nobody in the house has mentioned it once, which is the highest praise a projector fan is ever going to get!
