Storage and ports in one pocket-sized slab
You cannot replace the drive when it fills up
Does the work of two things I used to carry separately

The built-in drive is fixed at 512GB and that is your lot
Five stars because it does exactly what it sets out to do, with one warning that anybody buying it should hear first. As a hub it is unremarkable in the best way. HDMI to a meeting room screen, a card reader that reads at proper speed, two USB-A for a mouse and a stick, and the laptop charging through it. Nothing has ever needed a driver and nothing has dropped out. The drive is the interesting half. Copies from a camera card run at the sort of speed that makes you check twice, and because it is inside the hub there is no separate enclosure warming up in the bag beside it. Four months in it has swallowed everything I have thrown at it. The warning: half a terabyte sounds generous until you shoot video. It is soldered in, so when it fills, it fills. Plan around that and it is a lovely thing.

Hub and a fast drive in one thing to carry
The point of this is not the hub and it is not the drive, it is not having two of them in the bag. Half a terabyte built in means the working project lives on the same object that gives me HDMI and a card slot, and there is no second cable to forget. Ten months of carting it between an office, a client site and the kitchen table and the drive has not so much as hiccupped. It gets warm while copying, as any small SSD does, but never hot enough to worry about.
Used for: Less than a month
Handy object, and the drive really is quick, but be aware the whole thing is one unit: if the hub side ever gives up you lose the storage with it. That is the trade for having one thing in the bag instead of two, and I decided it was worth taking.
