Turned up for a corporate job where the client's presenters had their own mics and our packs are Shure, which is normally the point at which somebody drives back to the office. Two of these in the bag and it was a non-issue. Audio is transparent as far as I can hear, no hiss added, no level drop. The build is proper metal and the strain relief looks like it will survive being coiled with everything else at the end of a shoot.

A school drama department ends up with mismatched kit over the years, and we had eight microdot headsets that would not go anywhere near the wireless packs we bought last summer. Four of these, and three months later every one of those headsets is in use again, which is a great deal cheaper than replacing mics. The sound through it is clean and the level is right without touching the gain, so it is clearly doing the bias properly rather than just wiring pins together. Where it loses a star is the physical size. It adds a good 4 centimetres to the connector, and once it is plugged into a body pack in a pouch the whole thing is bulkier than a student can comfortably hide under a costume.
