Turns towards the patient, which a tower and monitor never did
No operating system in the box
Landed on a small consulting-room desk where a tower had never really fitted, and the difference is the whole point: one lead, nothing on the floor, and a screen you can turn towards a patient. Early days, but nothing about it has needed thinking about since!

The screen is good enough to count as a monitor on its own
We buy these without an operating system because ours goes on from a stick in minutes, and paying for a licence we then wipe has always annoyed me. On the desk they are exactly what a work machine should be. The screen is a genuinely good monitor rather than a panel that happens to be attached to something, the camera is high enough up that you are not filming people's ceilings, and the microphone picks up a normal speaking voice from across a small meeting room. The only warning I would give is about the power brick. Sixty-five watts arrives in a lump on the floor, so the promise of one tidy cable is a slight exaggeration!

One lead per desk and nothing on the floor
Two years on a bank of hot desks and it has been the least trouble of anything we own. One lead to each position, nothing underneath to kick, and the cleaners can actually clean. Four stars rather than five for the stand, which does not swivel far enough for two people to share a screen without moving the whole thing. Small complaint, though, against a machine that has not needed a single visit from anyone in IT.
