  • LCLeo C.1 September 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Comment

Cheaper than the obvious names and it records a condenser without a whisper of noise

  • LFLeo F.28 August 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Gain enough for an SM7B without a booster, which at this price is unheard of

    Comment

Bought it expecting to be disappointed at the money and instead it drove a notoriously quiet dynamic to a proper level with the dial short of the top. Genuinely surprised

  • DRDaisy R.26 August 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

Phantom power that does not need a menu

    Cons

No MIDI sockets on the back

    Comment

A pair of channels, a switch for direct monitoring, and nothing else to get wrong

  • ACArthur C.14 August 2026

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

It has survived being shoved in a drawer for most of its life

    Cons

The USB-C socket has started to feel a little loose

    Comment

I use it for lessons over video calls and for recording the occasional demo, and it has done both without complaint for two years. The socket is the only part showing wear, and that is my fault for tugging the cable rather than the plug every single time. It still records as cleanly as the day it turned up.

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Comment

First proper interface after years of plugging a USB microphone into a laptop and hoping, and the difference is not in the sound so much as in the control. Two inputs, real gain knobs, phantom power for a condenser, and a switch that lets you hear yourself without any delay. Recording a voiceover with the condenser and a guitar on the second input at the same time works exactly as advertised. No hum, no hiss with the gain wound up, and the USB-C cable is the only thing going into the laptop. The build is where the money went missing. The case is metal, which is good, and everything on the front is plastic, which is less good. Nothing wobbles yet. I would not throw it in a bag every day and expect it to survive a year, but on a desk it has been faultless!

  • JWJack W.31 July 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

Metal case at a price where everything else is plastic

    Cons

The gain knobs are close enough together to knock the wrong one

    Comment

Sat it beside the laptop, plugged the microphone in, and had a usable take inside five minutes. For the money that is remarkable!

  • FLFreddie L.29 July 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Comment

Replaced a mixer that hummed whenever the laptop was charging. This does not hum, does not need a supply, and does not take up half the desk. Straightforward and quiet

  • ADAmelia D.29 June 2026

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

Two preamps with more gain than the price suggests

    Cons

The knobs are plastic and they feel it

    Comment

I bought this to record a podcast at a kitchen table and it has been doing exactly that ever since, twice a month, with two dynamic microphones and a laptop. Gain is the thing that surprised me: the dial sits about two thirds up on a quiet dynamic and the noise floor stays where it should be. It has been more than a year now and nothing has failed. The knobs still feel cheap, but they have just stopped bothering me.

  • AFAva F.22 June 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

Nothing has gone wrong and it gets used every week

    Cons

Direct monitoring is mono, which nobody mentions anywhere

    Comment

The one thing I would tell anyone buying this is that the direct monitoring is a mono blend, so a stereo guitar or a keyboard comes back up the middle while you are playing. It records in stereo perfectly well though, it just does not let you hear it that way. Eight months of weekly use and that is my only real note. The preamps are clean, the gain goes far enough, and it has never once needed a driver on either machine.

  • MCMillie C.17 June 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

It does record, and it records cleanly enough

    Cons

The headphone output runs out of level before a loud backing does

    Comment

My complaint is specific and it is the headphone amp. With a pair of ordinary studio cans the dial is at maximum before a backing track is loud enough to sing against, and there is nothing left for the vocal on top of it. Fine with efficient headphones, hopeless with anything demanding. Everything else is what you would expect at the money. Phantom power works, the preamps are quiet, direct monitoring is a switch. Just check what you are plugging into it before you commit.
