As a budget 1080p card it has been ideal, holding 60C under load with a single 8-pin and no case changes needed. If you record or stream, be aware the hardware encoder is noticeably softer at the same bitrate, which matters more to some people than others. Getting on for a year with it and that is the only thing I would warn anyone about. For playing rather than recording it is excellent value.

Picked this over the equivalent NVIDIA card purely on price and I have mixed feelings about that choice. On the money side it was clearly right. It is quick enough at 1080p, it runs at around 62C with the fans barely turning, it needs one 8-pin and the whole upgrade cost less than a night out for four. The build quality is up to the usual ASUS standard and the backplate is proper metal. What I underestimated was the software. Adrenalin is a good deal more capable than the NVIDIA panel but it also wants to be a launcher, an overlay and a streaming app, and turning all that off took a while. Encoding quality for recording is also visibly behind. A few months in and that has not changed. Four stars, and I would still buy it at this price.

Two stars, and it pains me because the card itself is well made. The problem has been the driver. Roughly once a week the screen goes black and comes back with a notification saying the display driver stopped responding, most often when a browser video is playing rather than in a game. I have been through a clean uninstall, four Adrenalin versions and a fresh Windows install. It got better with one release and worse again with the next. Thermals are fine, the fans are quiet, and at 1080p the performance is what I paid for. None of that helps when the screen goes dark in the middle of a call.

Bought as the cheapest new card that would run 1080p properly and it has done that without complaint. The AMD driver package installed first time, FSR handles the heavier titles, and the card sits at 61C under load with fans I cannot hear over the case. It only needs a single connector, so the old 500W supply stayed where it was. For the money there is very little to argue with!

The cooler is far better than the price suggests, sitting at 59C with a hotspot delta of about eight degrees and fans that stop at the desktop. Where it shows its class is the heavier releases, where native 1080p at high drops into the forties and FSR has to make up the difference. Perfectly playable, but it is not the card it would have been three years ago.

Has been completely dependable and I have never had a hardware fault with it, so five stars on that basis. The honest warning is capacity. When it was bought, 8GB was adequate at 1080p, and the newer releases have eaten that headroom steadily. It still plays everything, but more of the settings menu is now off limits than used to be. Three years of it now and that list keeps growing.

Fans stop entirely below 50C so the machine is silent for anything that is not a game. Under load it holds 60C. The catch is that the newer releases lean on upscaling to hit 60fps at 1080p, which is fine, but it is worth knowing rather than assuming native.
