Went from a full size board to this to claw back some desk, and the compromise is the arrow cluster: it sits jammed against the numpad and for the first week I hit Home instead of up more times than I want to admit. Muscle memory sorted it inside a month. The magnetic switches are the reason to buy it though. I run the WASD block shallow and everything else deep, and the difference in games is not subtle. Typing is unaffected because the letters are set where a normal switch would be.

The thing nobody tells you about a hall effect board is that you have to choose. Plug it in and it is as fast as anything on the market. Go wireless and the polling drops and the rapid trigger stops feeling quite so telepathic. For spreadsheets it makes no odds at all, but if the point of buying magnetic switches was the speed, the cable stays in. Otherwise this is very close to ideal for me. I wanted the numpad because half my job is entering figures, and every other board with these switches seems to stop at tenkeyless. Five months in the sound has not changed and the space bar has stayed silent. Dock a star for the software, which is heavy, slow to open and asks to sign in every time it updates.

Bought it for the office and nobody has complained, which was the whole test. Three months of open-plan and the tactile bump is there without the clack, so calls carry on as if I were on a laptop!
