The gasket mount is doing real work here. Bottoming out lands on something soft rather than on a plate, and there is no metallic ring afterwards, which was the one thing I could not live with before!

Spent an evening mapping actuation depths per key and have not touched it since. Movement keys shallow, everything else at a normal depth so typing does not turn into a minefield of accidental letters. Once it is written to the board the software can stay shut. Four months on, the caps are unmarked and the space bar has developed no rattle whatsoever. My only grumble is that the profile switching is buried three menus deep in an app that takes longer to open than the game does!
