Used for: 6–12 months
No launcher, no login, no tray icon. VIA opens in a tab, you drag a key where you want it, and it is done

Wireless that just works, on three devices
The battery drains noticeably faster with the backlight on
Paired to a work laptop, a personal desktop and a tablet, and switching between them is a key combination rather than a menu. That has turned out to be the feature I use most, and it has never once dropped a connection or missed a keystroke on wake. The backlight is where the four stars come from. With it off, a charge lasts the best part of a month. Turn it on at anything above the lowest setting and you are plugging it back in every few days, on a board heavy enough that you tend to leave the cable attached anyway. Which rather blunts the point of the wireless.
Used for: More than a year
Two keys have started registering twice and the sockets are the suspect
The B and the N now double up at random, which on a hot-swap board with a fresh switch in the socket points at the board, not the switch
Used for: 1–3 months
A full size aluminium board with hot-swap sockets and no software to install
The weight is the first thing anybody comments on. It is a slab of aluminium with a numpad attached and it does not move for anything, which after years of light plastic boards sliding towards the monitor is a small daily pleasure. Sound is deeper than I expected from a case this rigid, presumably the gasket mount and the foam doing their job. There is a faint hollow note in the numpad that is not there elsewhere, but you have to be listening for it.
Used for: Less than a month
VIA in a browser, no account, no installer
Remapped the whole board in a browser tab
Used for: 1–3 months
Silent stabilisers on the space bar
Heavy to lift onto a shelf
The space bar has no rattle in it whatsoever
