  • APAva P.24 August 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

Still as quick as the day it went in

    Cons

The bundled adapter is best thrown away

    Comment

Eight months of daily use in a helmet camera and it has not given up once, which the last two cards could not manage

  • ADAmelia D.22 August 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

The Mavic records 4K without the card ever being the bottleneck

    Comment

Went into a Mavic 3 for a survey job and the flight logs plus footage from a full day of flying did not fill a tenth of it. Only four stars because 2TB in a drone is honestly more than anyone needs, and I knew that buying it

  • JRJack R.16 August 2026

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

Has lived in a phone, a drone and now a handheld

    Cons

Fiddly to get out with cold fingers

    Comment

Moved between three devices in two years and still perfect!

  • ICIvy C.15 August 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Pros

A whole season of trail camera triggers on one card

    Cons

Almost too small to handle in gloves

    Comment

The badger cam out the back has been the death of three cheaper cards, all of which filled or corrupted before I got to them. This one went in a fortnight ago and has taken several thousand night triggers without a single unreadable file. Getting it into the camera in the dark with gloves on is another matter, but that is microSD for you!

  • TMTheo M.14 August 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

Every game I own installed on a Switch with room to spare

    Cons

You are paying a serious premium over two smaller cards

    Comment

The reason for a card this size in a Switch is that nobody in the house has to choose what to delete any more. Forty-odd digital titles, all installed, load times indistinguishable from the internal storage as far as the kids can tell. It is not sensible value and I know it. Two 1TB cards cost less and would have done the same job with one swap. But the whole point was never swapping, and on that it delivers exactly what was promised. Ten weeks in and not one read error!

  • TFTheo F.13 August 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Cons

No case and no reader in the box at this price is a bit rich

    Comment

Five stars for the card, with one gripe about what is not in the packet. For this kind of money you get the card, a paper insert and an SD adapter that flexes like a bus ticket. No case, no reader, nothing to keep it safe in a bag where it will inevitably end up loose. The performance is not in doubt. It filled at full speed from a proper reader, held up through a long recording session in a handheld console, and has not thrown a single error. Just buy a case with it.

Used for: Less than a month

    Comment

Bought it for a Pi 5 running a media server, moved 900GB across in one evening and have not thought about storage since. Runs cooler than the SSD it replaced, which I did not expect

  • WPWillow P.26 July 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

Whole Steam library on the Deck with nothing left on the internal drive

    Cons

The adapter it comes with is the flimsiest part of the package

    Comment

Every big install I own now lives on this and the Deck loads them at what feels like the same speed as internal storage. Shader caches, two Bethesda games and a pile of emulator content, and there is still half the card free. The SD adapter in the box is an afterthought, all wobble and no grip, so it went straight in a drawer. Reading the card through it in a laptop slot gave noticeably slower copies than a proper USB reader, which is worth knowing before you blame the card.

  • GFGrace F.22 July 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

Handles 5.7K 360 footage without a single dropped frame

    Cons

Reformatting it in the camera takes an age

    Comment

It went into an Insta360 X4 for a cycling channel, where the old card would stall on the highest bitrate and leave a corrupted last clip. That has stopped completely. Long rides, hot weather, camera on the helmet for hours, and every file plays back clean. The one irritation is formatting. In-camera format on a card this size takes long enough that I now do it on the laptop before a ride rather than at the trailhead in the cold. Four stars for that and because the price is frankly eye-watering for what it does.

  • FKFlorence K.22 July 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

Genuine article, and the tools confirm it

    Cons

1.86TB on the computer rather than 2TB, and the box does not explain that

    Comment

Two things to say for anyone hovering over the buy button. First, buy from somewhere that has a reputation to lose. The market for fake high-capacity microSD is enormous and the fakes are convincing right down to the laser etching, so I ran H2testw across the whole thing before trusting it with anything and every sector came back honest. Second, the capacity. Windows shows about 1.86TB free and the first thing everyone assumes is that they have been swindled. They have not, it is the difference between how a manufacturer counts a gigabyte and how a computer does, but a line on the packaging would save a lot of grief. Beyond that it has been quick and quiet in a bodycam that runs all shift.

  • SHSophie H.13 June 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

The Hero never once flashed the card warning

    Cons

Overkill unless you are away from a laptop for ages

    Comment

Diving trip with no laptop to dump onto, and every dive of the fortnight fitted on one card. Never had to think about space, which is the point!
