Bought as a birthday present for myself and I am still pleased, with one reservation. The panel is a good one. 1440p at 260Hz with the ASUS overdrive on the level two setting is clean, colours are punchy without being silly, and the ELMB backlight strobing actually works if you lock the frame rate to match it. The reservation is the price of the theme. Strip away the artwork and the stand decals and you are paying a fair bit over what an equivalent plain Strix costs. Worth it to me, maybe not to everyone. Five months on I still notice the panel more than the paint job, which is the right way round.

I have thought about this monitor more than any I have owned, which I suppose is the point of a special edition. On the panel: 1440p at 27 inches is the resolution I would pick anyway, 260Hz is more than my card can saturate in anything modern, and the Fast IPS response is quick enough that I cannot see a trail behind moving objects at normal settings. Black levels are ordinary IPS, so dark games have that familiar grey wash in a dim room, and the corner glow is visible on a black screen. On the theme: the printed rear panel, the teal accents and the bundled stand trim are all done properly rather than as stickers, and it still looks good rather than childish on a grown-up desk. Four stars rather than five, because at this price I would have expected a panel with local dimming.

Mostly rhythm games with a bit of work in between, and the panel has been perfect. Colours have not shifted, no dead pixels, and nine months on the artwork on the back still gets a comment from anyone who sees the desk!
