Bought for the football and it has changed how the season feels. The pan across the pitch is clean with the smoothing set low, and at this size you watch the shape of the play rather than just the ball. Nobody in this house has been to the pub for a match since it arrived. The sound is the usual story for a panel this thin: fine for a quiz, hopeless under a score. There is a bar underneath now, though, and it should probably be counted as part of what the telly cost.
Used for: More than a year
The feet were never going to work on our unit
Straight onto the wall, where it has stayed without a single complaint from anybody since
Used for: 6–12 months
The anti-glare finish actually works
The remote is tiny for a set this size
The screen scatters the window rather than reflecting it back at you, which in a room this bright is worth more to me than any number on the box
Used for: 3–6 months
Sport at this size is the whole point
Blooming shows on the credits in a dark room
Rugby on a Saturday with the family in and the room feels like a small stand. Detail holds up even sat fairly close, and the motion is clean without any of that gliding nonsense. In a dark room the white text at the end of a film glows a little, though you do stop noticing it!
Used for: 6–12 months
Fills the wall and still looks sharp close up
Needs a proper bracket and two people
A hundred inches sounded like a mistake right up until it was on the wall. Sat 3 metres back nothing looks stretched or soft, and this has become the room everyone wants to watch anything in. Getting it there is the job. The bracket is heavy, the panel is unwieldy rather than dense, and there is no version of this that one person should attempt on their own. Half a year on, no regrets at all!
Used for: 3–6 months
Coming from a set half the size, the first few days were a lot. Everything felt too close, the sofa moved twice and the picture settings got fiddled with far more than they needed. Now it just looks normal, which is apparently what happens to everyone. Four stars because of the sound, which for a set of this size and price is poor. Dialogue disappears whenever a soundtrack swells and the clever virtual modes make it worse rather than better. Everything visual is excellent: bright enough for the afternoon, clean on fast sport, and the anti-glare coating is the best I have seen on anything this big.

Brightness and size for less than the OLEDs cost
Sat in front of the OLEDs in a shop for an hour and then bought this instead, because our living room has two windows and a glass door and no amount of black level helps you at two in the afternoon. No regrets 3 months on. It is very bright, the sport looks superb and the extra size for the money is not a small thing. There is some blooming around bright objects at night if you go looking for it, but in a room where the lights are usually on it is invisible. The picture out of the box was close to right: sharpness down a couple of notches, smoothing off, and that was that.

Game mode is genuinely quick
The smart system is slow to start and full of adverts
Two of us game on this and the difference from the old set is not subtle. Button presses land when you press them, the high refresh mode picks itself up from the console and shooters feel the way they do on a desk monitor. Where the money clearly did not go is the software. It takes a few seconds to come out of standby, the home screen is a shop before it is a menu, and one of the rows cannot be moved or turned off at all. 8 months in, that is still the only thing about it that annoys me.
