Eighteen ports off one USB-C connection is impressive until you ask them all to work at once. Two spinning drives backing up and the SD card reader was crawling; one at a time and everything is fine. That is the deal with any hub and I knew it, but eighteen on the box does invite you to try. As a desk hub for a keyboard, mouse, screens, network and the occasional drive it has been faultless and it has never dropped the video.

Everything that used to be scattered round the back of the monitor is now one box. Two displays, wired network, headset, mic, two card slots and the laptop charging, all off a single lead, and the desk is properly clear for the first time in years. One cosmetic note: the side nearest the window has gone very slightly cream already. Does not affect a thing, but worth knowing if it will sit in daylight!

Bought it because I was tired of unplugging one thing to plug in another. Card readers, audio, two screens, network and enough USB-A for every peripheral in the drawer, all live together. Five months in and I have not had to swap a single cable.
