Long enough to reach under the stairs with slack to spare
The moulded end is bulky for a tight back box
Ordered it for a garage conversion where the media box lives under the stairs. No sparkles, no dropouts since, and the moulded end still clears the wall plate with room to spare.
Used for: More than a year
The IC booster holds a clean picture over the full run
Projector-end plug has worked loose over time
Runs from the equipment cupboard at the back of our hall to a ceiling projector, and the built-in booster does what the old passive run never managed. Picture locks instantly at 1080p. Two years on the plug has loosened slightly at the projector end, hence four.
Used for: 1–3 months
Twenty-five metres from the rack in the garage to the telly in the extension, and it simply worked first time. No handshake dance, no black frames when the amp switches inputs. Delighted!
Used for: More than a year
Still the cable feeding our board room screen after two Christmases of being unplugged and shoved back in by whoever needed the laptop. Nothing has gone soft, nothing sparkles. Money well spent
Used for: 3–6 months
Has not dropped the feed once in a shop window
Bought for a shop window display that runs from opening until close and it has not dropped the signage feed once. Cheaper than the fibre alternatives and does exactly the same job here
Used for: 6–12 months
Jacket is stiff and holds every kink from the drum
Fitted this behind a plasterboard wall to a ceiling mount, which meant pulling 25 metres of it through a joist void, and that is where the complaint starts. The outer jacket is stiff and it remembers every kink from the drum, so feeding it through was a two-person job with a torch and a lot of swearing. The connector shells are also chunkier than the trunking I had already put in, so I ended up widening the hole. Once it is in place I have no argument with it at all. Ten months of a projector switching on and off twice a night and the picture comes up straight away every time. Just do the pulling before you make the holes, not after.
