The 4TB drive is the reason I chose this one over the cheaper sibling, and it has changed how I use a machine. Nothing gets uninstalled. The whole library, three video projects and a folder of captures all sit there with room to spare. On the old build I was juggling what to keep every time something new came out. One mark off because the boot drive arrived partitioned in a way I would not have chosen!

It sits about a foot from a microphone and does not turn up on the recordings, which is not something I could say about any machine I have owned before. The fans only really announce themselves under a long session, and even then it is a low rush rather than a whine. A year on, nothing has changed for the worse

Upgrading from a machine I built myself back in 2017, so almost anything would have felt quick, but the gap is wider than I expected. Things that used to take a minute now take a moment. What I would flag to anyone considering it is the noise profile rather than the noise level. It is quiet at idle and quiet under a steady load, but there is a stretch in between where the front fans hunt up and down as the processor spikes, and that changing note carries further than a constant one. Five months in I have flattened the curve myself and it is much better for it. A sane default would have saved me the job.
