The pixel pitch is the thing to think about before ordering. At 45 inches with 3440 across you are looking at fairly large pixels, and coming off a 27 inch 1440p panel it took me a good while to stop noticing. For games it is glorious, all curve and contrast and speed. For a spreadsheet it is coarse. I sit slightly further back than I used to, which fixes most of it, and I would still take the immersion over the sharpness.

Three stars, and it pains me to write them, because for a long stretch this was the best screen I had ever used. The good half is easy. Contrast that makes an LCD look grey, a curve that suits a wide game perfectly, and motion so clean that the refresh rate stops being a number on a box and becomes something you feel every time you turn quickly. It handled everything I threw at it and looked wonderful doing it. Then the panel began showing faint vertical bands on flat grey. About a year in I noticed the first one, and there are three or four across the width now. They are invisible in a game and impossible to unsee on a document or an empty editor, so the writing work has moved to a second screen and this one does games only. Whether that is normal wear on a panel of this type or simply bad luck I could not tell you, but it is not what I expected at this price.

Bought for flight sims and it has done more for the experience than the last two hardware upgrades put together. The curve wraps just enough that the instrument panels sit in your peripheral vision where they belong, and OLED contrast at night makes a cockpit look lit rather than painted. Five months in, the only thing I would still change is the sharpness. It is a very big screen with 1440p worth of width, so fine text is soft, and I keep a second panel for the writing half of the day.

Still rearranging the desk around it, which probably tells you enough about the size of the thing. The picture is everything the reviews promise. Contrast is absolute, the curve is well judged for a screen this wide, and 240Hz on an OLED makes fast motion look as though it has been tidied up afterwards. The speakers, which I expected to be a throwaway, are genuinely usable on a call. What I am less keen on is the brightness limiter. Leave a bright document up and the whole panel eases down a noticeable step, then lifts again the moment you scroll. Nobody would ever spot it in a game. Working on a white page all afternoon I spot it constantly, and there is no setting that turns it off properly. That is the missing star, and it may well be a fair trade for what the panel does everywhere else.
