  • LSLouie S.29 August 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

Two inputs, phantom power, and a headphone out that goes properly loud

    Cons

White plastic will not stay white in a room with a guitarist in it

    Comment

First interface after years of recording guitar into a laptop microphone, which tells you how low the bar was, but this has been a genuine education. The Enhance circuit on the instrument input does something to the low end that makes a single coil sit in a track without any EQ at all. Phantom power for the condenser works without a separate supply, and the headphone amp is loud enough that I can track against a full backing without pushing the laptop volume. Gain on the microphone channel is enough for a quiet dynamic with room in hand. The knobs are the only cheap thing about it. They turn smoothly but they feel hollow, and the monitor dial in particular wobbles if you catch it. Everything that matters, which is what comes out of it, is far better than the price suggests.

  • AMAlfie M.9 August 2026

Used for: More than a year

    Pros

Cheap enough to leave at the rehearsal room without worrying

    Comment

The white finish has yellowed slightly where the sun hits it, though that is the only sign of age after more than a year. Sound is identical to the day it arrived, the knobs still turn cleanly, and it still records a guitar better than anything near the price, by a distance

  • LSLouie S.19 July 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

The Enhance switch on the guitar input is not a gimmick

    Comment

Guitar straight in, amp sim after, and the DI sounds fat before anything is added. The white case looks daft next to black gear and I do not care!

  • EHElla H.18 July 2026

    Used for: 3–6 months

    Pros

Bus powered, so it lives in the gig bag

    Cons

The knobs feel light next to the rest of the build

    Comment

Writing sessions round a friend's kitchen table, laptop and this and a guitar, and it has never wanted a mains socket. Four months of that and nothing has come loose.

    Comment

Recording an album's worth of demos in a spare room, and this has been the whole front end: guitar, bass, a condenser for vocals and an SM57 on the amp. It has not fallen over once. The honest limitation is two inputs. That is fine until you want the amp mic and the DI at the same time as a vocal, at which point you are printing in passes. Not a fault, just the shape of the thing. What surprised me was the software that came with it, which is the reason I chose this over the obvious alternative. The amp models are better than the free ones I had been using, and it means the box arrived able to make a record rather than needing another purchase first.

  • JCJack C.28 June 2026

    Used for: 1–3 months

    Pros

Records a guitar with no hum at all, even with the amp on

    Cons

No MIDI, which I only noticed when I wanted it

    Comment

Bought for guitar and it has ended up doing vocals too. Quiet, simple, a knob per job, and it fits in the laptop bag with room for the cable

  • FWFlorence W.24 June 2026

Used for: Less than a month

    Comment

Bedroom setup, a guitar, a microphone, and this does both without any patching. The instrument input takes a hot humbucker without clipping, which the last box could not manage above about half volume. Direct monitoring is a switch on the front rather than a menu somewhere, and that alone makes it easier to record than anything I have used. Recorded a whole demo the first weekend and the only thing that went wrong was me!

  • AHArthur H.22 June 2026

    Used for: 6–12 months

    Pros

Nothing on it needs a manual, which is why it gets used

    Comment

Every idea that turns into a song starts on this now, because it is quicker to hit record than to think about recording. Plug in, arm the track, play. The direct monitoring switch means what you hear is what your fingers are doing, with no delay to fight against. Ten months in, and the only thing that has changed is that the white case is now slightly less white!
