Upgraded from a mouse that cost a third of this, so I was ready to be disappointed. The honest difference is not the sensor, which was fine before, it is the weight and the switches. Clicks are light and short and the release is immediate, so tapping quickly is effortless in a way I did not know I was missing. The shape is the other half. Fairly flat sides, low hump, and it suits a fingertip or claw grip better than a palm. Anyone with big hands who rests the whole palm down should measure first, though.

Long term note, because most reviews of this thing are written in the first week. The shell has held up completely. No creaking, no flex under the click, and none of the paint wear you get on the coated ones where the thumb sits. The skates went dull at about the eight month mark and a fresh set brought the glide right back, which is a ten minute job. What has aged less well is the charge. It used to last most of a working week and now it wants the cable every third evening, which is normal for a battery this small but worth knowing before you spend this much. Still the best mouse I have owned, and I have owned a silly number of them.

Works even on a bare desk
The receiver is small and easy to misplace
Straight out of the box it tracked properly on my desk without a mat at all!
Used for: 6–12 months
Charge lasts longer than I can sit still
Costs about the same as a whole keyboard
Light, quick, and the battery outlasts my patience for gaming in one sitting
Used for: 3–6 months
Tracks perfectly on a cheap worn out mat
Sensor has not skipped once, not even on the awful cloth mat I refuse to replace
Used for: 1–3 months
Barely there in the hand once you adjust to it
The price is genuinely hard to defend
Picking it up the first time is genuinely odd, it feels like an empty shell rather than a mouse, and then you flick to a target and understand where the money went!
Used for: 1–3 months
Scroll steps are soft and hard to count
Superb mouse, though the scroll wheel steps are vaguer than I would like
Used for: 1–3 months
Went from a 90g mouse to this and my aim was all over the place for a week. Now the old one feels like dragging a brick about the mat!
Used for: 1–3 months
Armoury Crate is a huge install for a handful of settings
No complaints about the mouse itself, but Armoury Crate is an enormous thing to install for a polling rate
Used for: More than a year
Solid shell, so nothing works its way inside
Carbon shell means no holes, so no crumbs and no dust inside, which was my whole complaint with the last lightweight mouse. Still looks new after a year of daily use.

Shape is spot on for a claw grip
Shape suits a claw grip beautifully, the sides are almost flat and the hump sits well back. Four stars only because the side buttons are small for the size of my hands.
