Bought it for print retouching and the deciding factor was not the panel at all, it was the scheduling. Set the sensor to run at three in the morning and the thing simply stays right: no reminders, no puck rattling about in a drawer, no arguing with a colleague over whose profile is the correct one. The supplied hood is the one thing I would change. It clips together like a flat-pack wardrobe and once assembled there is nowhere sensible to put it if you want the desk back, so I use it maybe half the time. The OSD is slower to move through than it ought to be as well, though you barely go in there once everything is set.

Five stars for what it does, with a warning about the footprint. The base is a great slab of a thing and my desk lost about ten centimetres of depth to it the moment it went down. Height and pivot range are excellent once it is in place, mind, and it swings to portrait without the corner ever touching the wall!

Everything on the colour side has been beyond reproach, and eight months in the delta against my own calibrator is still under one. What nobody mentions is how sluggish the desktop feels when a 144Hz panel is sitting right next to it. For the photo work it does not matter a jot. For every other hour of the day it rather does!

The built-in calibration sensor is the reason to buy this over anything else at the price. It swings out of the top bezel on a schedule you set, recalibrates overnight, and I have not touched my external puck since the day it arrived. I checked it against an i1Display anyway out of pure suspicion and the two agreed to within a hair on the greys, which is more than I could say for the Dell it replaced. Uniformity is the other thing nobody puts on a box. Full white on the old panel had a warm patch bottom left that I had trained myself to ignore; on this there is simply nothing to see, corner to corner. Prints match the screen now, which after all that guesswork feels like cheating!
