For films after dark this is superb: tone mapping on an HDR disc is handled properly rather than crushed, and skin tones are the best I have seen from a projector at home. Daylight is where it stops. At 2700 lumens an afternoon match with the curtains open is washed out and grey, and you accept from the start that this is an evening machine. Five months in, that has not bothered us in the slightest, but it would bother some.

This sits on a low shelf behind the sofa with a single power lead going to it, and everything else is on board: the apps, the sound routing out to the bar, all of it. Setting up meant turning two little wheels for the shift, which is stiff and fiddly, but only ever done the once.

Went up on the ceiling above the dining table with the cable run through the void, and the finished room looks as though nothing is there at all, which is exactly what was wanted. The planning took longer than the fitting. There is only a modest amount of shift and the throw ratio is what it is, so the position that gives a 100 inch image is a single point in the room, and in our case that point was directly above where somebody sits. It works, but a projector with more shift would have let me put it a foot further back. Noise is not an issue at all; in a quiet scene you cannot hear it from the sofa.
