Daylight turns the blacks grey, screen or no screen

Three stars from somebody who wanted to love it. As a television replacement it half works: the sound out of the unit is genuinely good, better than any flat panel we have owned, and sitting 20cm from the wall means no ceiling work and no cable running across the room. The daylight problem never went away. On a bright afternoon the picture goes milky and the blacks turn grey, and the light rejecting screen we added afterwards helped without solving it. In the evening it is superb. The other grumble is the smart platform, which has got slower over time and now takes a moment to wake up at all. A year and a half of that, and I still switch to it after dark and away from it by day.
